How to use Bushkeepers Biochar:

On an existing garden or around established trees spread approximately 1-2 L per square meter. Rake in if soil is loose or simply scatter the appropriate amount and leave it to permeate down and through your garden, vege patch, tree roots or lawn.

If digging new ground (for example preparing a vegetable or flower garden). Take care to remove weeds and grasses from the upper layer. Then dig down at least 200mm, turning and breaking soil clumps as you go.

Apply BK Biochar at a ratio of 1-2 L per square meter and dig/turn the soil again. Water well and allow to settle for at least a few hours.

Then proceed to plant your veges, flowers, shrubs, trees or lawn, then water lightly and gently to wet the roots of your new plants.

What is Biochar:

Biochar is defined by the International Biochar Initiative as "the solid material obtained from the thermochemical conversion of biomass in an oxygen-limited environment".

Biochar is a stable solid, that is rich in pyrogenic carbon, and can endure in soil for thousands of years.

Biochar has impressive potential of sequestering carbon with minimal effort.

Sequestering is the process of capturing and storing atmospheric carbon dioxide.

Biochar is a natural and powerful contributor to reducing carbon dioxide in our atmosphere.

Adding to this Biochar will increase soil fertility benefiting trees, plants and vegetable performance. Biochar increases agricultural productivity.

What is Biochar used for:

Biochar is mainly used for soil application to improve soil nutrient availability, aeration and soil water filtration.

Biochar is a recognised future as a fertiliser and projected to become widely used as an environmentally positive material for soil.

Biochar verses Charcoal:

Biochar is a form of char or charcoal and in the charcoal state does improve soil. Char or charcoal works on soil condition slowly but for extremely long periods.

The effect on your soil and plant life is more immediate with the added benefit to reconstitute and improve soil for many years to come due to its char content.

It is the only fertiliser you will need to apply!
